DSK Metrix, Inc. was formed in 2021 as a small business to assist select clients in building development, specializing in structural and fire and life-safety building code applications. We work with clients to evaluate, integrate and apply building code criteria to building projects.
Co-owner and principal Douglas Krug brings over 40 years of building design, construction and project development experience, working across disciplines as a civil and structural designer and fire and life-safety code specialist. Mr. Krug holds certifications from major code organizations including the International Code Council (ICC) and the National Fire Protection Association. He is also a California licensed Civil and Structural Engineer, and in recognition of his service to the structural engineering community, was inducted into the Structural Engineers Association of California’s College of Fellows.
Majority co-owner Kelly Krug serves as Company Director of Administration and Instructional Design. She holds a Masters of Education degree in Instructional Design and has worked in the construction industry as contract administrator and field team coordinator. She also served as paralegal with the Sacramento County District Attorney, and in the education industry as an educational specialist, curriculum developer, and high school principal. She is instrumental in developing and maintaining the Company’s proprietary Metrix Analysis Program (“MAP”) used for rapid evaluation of key building metrics (type of construction, floor area, use, occupancy) to verify compliance with California Building Code general building heights and areas criteria.
We work with designers, developers, owners and contractors to integrate structural and non-structural building code concepts into building projects.

Douglas S. Krug, Principal
A structural engineer and NFPA Certified Life Safety Specialist-Health Care Facility Manager, Doug brings over 35 years of building design, construction and project development experience to the team. Working across disciplines as a structural designer, constructor and building code consultant, Doug assists designers, owners and contractors in a solution-focused application and integration of structural and non-structural building code concepts to building projects. Inducted into the Structural Engineers Association of California’s College of Fellows in 2011, Doug was recognized for his dedication to and service for the engineering community.
Role: Doug will assist the team in project design development through construction phases for California Building Code application and compliance.
